Grandstar Cargo International Airlines Co., Ltd. (hereby ” Grandstar
Cargo”) was established in December 2007 as a joint venture cargo airlines
between Sinotrans Air Transportation Development Co., Ltd. (51%),
Korean Airlines Co., Ltd. (25%), Hana Capital Co., Ltd. (13%), and
Shinhan Capital Co., Ltd. (11%). With its head office and base in
Tianjin, Grandstar Cargo is the first cargo airline with scheduled
non-stop flights from Tianjin to Europe, America, and Asia. Tianjin
(TSN) is fast growing as one of the most important hubs for airfreight
in China, and its geographic location as the gateway to Beijing will
provide a great opportunity for Grandstar Cargo’s future development.
Grandstar Cargo has branches in Europe and Shanghai and plans to expand
to major cities around the world in the future.
With freight aircraft for operations, Grandstar Cargo will mainly provide
international scheduled and non-scheduled air cargo transportation
services. Grandstar Cargo will start its operations to Europe at the
beginning of 2008 with a B747-400F initially. The airlines plan to
fly to U.S.A and other cities when the second B747-400F and 2 A300-600Fs
are added to its fleet during 2008.
Even as a new cargo airline, Grandstar Cargo will take full advantage of abundant cargo airline experience of Korean air,
a global leader in air cargo business and also benefit from the wide logistic network and a plentiful Chinese operation experience of Sino Air, one of the biggest transportation groups in China, enabling it to provide comprehensive and customer oriented international air cargo services to its customers.
