What is the difference between cargo and baggage?

Although both are shipped by planes, baggage flies with its owner while cargo is shipped separately from the shipper or consignee.
Usually, baggage weighing up to 20kg may be carried by a passenger free of charge, whereas cargo (typically called an import or export) is shipped for a fee.

I'm planning to send an exhibit to Paris, which is more economical : air carriage or marine transport?

Shipping by air is much faster than by ocean, and air packing costs less than ocean packing as mostly carton boxes are used.
Air carriage typically takes two days to Paris by air, while shipping takes about 3 weeks by ocean.
The air shipping charge itself is more expensive than that of an ocean shipment.
However, in terms of total cost, air shipments can be very economical when packing fees, insurance rates, and other expenses are considered.

I'm trying to export goods to Germany, how is the price decided?

Prices for air shipping are decided depending on cargo weight per unit.
A minimum charge is applied to small cargo, and a lower unit rate is applied as unit weight increases.
Rates vary by route.
If the volume is greater than the weight, then the greater amount will be applied.
The volume weight calculation is as follows:
Volume Weight(KG) : width (cm) x length (cm) x height (cm) / 6,000

I received a call from Grandstar Cargo notifying me that documents sent to me from Hongkong have arrived in Tianjin. Will Grandstar Cargo deliver these documents to my office?

The document can only be delivered to your office if it was shipped as cargo through a Grandstar Cargo freight forwarder or door-to-door delivery company.
Grandstar Cargo only transports from airport to airport and does not deliver to offices like a door-to-door delivery company.
Come to the TCS Cargo Operations Office to claim your document (claim the Air Waybill and go through Customs).

If I receive the shipment information from overseas, how to check and deliver the cargo?

First,check the information either from the Grandstar website or call the Grandstar branch office.
Bring the letter of introduction entrusted by the shipper company shown on the AWB to the TCS office for the exchange of AWB, together with packing list, contract and invoice for customs clearance, after that the cargo can be delivered.

If I want to book the cargo to Grandstar from Frankfurt to Beijing, when the flight arrives in Tianjin for transit to Beijing, do I need to do customs clearance in Tianjin?

Usually there are 2 kinds of method to operate.

1. When the flight arrives in GD's on-line station, shipper or their cargo forwarder can do the customs clearance in GD's on-line station, and transfer the shipment to consignee's destination, that is GD's off-line station either by the consignee's designated trucking company or the one arranged by the airline.

2. When the flight arrives in GD's on-line station, the airline is responsible for the customs formality in transit.
The cargo is transferred under customs bond by the trucking company arranged by the airline.
Shipper or their cargo forwarder does the customs clearance in final destination , after that can take the delivery of the cargo.
